Since Vital Rail Security won a place on Network Rail’s Framework Contract for Manned Security Services, we have been waiting for the first ‘mini tender’ to be issued. In July this year the first tender was issued to the three framework contractors and Vital Rail Security submitted a proposal.

Following a long process it was announced in October that Vital Rail Security had won the contract which will see Vital Rail Security staff protecting a Re-Signalling project between Shrewsbury and Crewe between November 2011 and June 2012.

This is a significant win for Vital Rail Security as we have won the first security contract issued under the framework and demonstrated that not only are we cost competitive but also that our strategy, management plan proposal and policies and procedures are seen by Network Rail to be over and above that of our competitors.
